Pinky in the Park: Houston Party in the Park 2026 Recap

Houston’s running community knows how to show up.

Safely was excited to join the 2026 Houston Party in the Park, presented by the Houston Area Road Runners Association, for a morning centered on movement, connection, and community.

Runners and walkers of all paces gathered at Memorial Park on August 8 to meet local run clubs, discover organizations supporting the Houston running community, and enjoy a summer morning together. Of course, Pinky came along for the fun.

A Celebration of Houston Running

As the umbrella organization for more than 40 Houston-area running clubs, HARRA works to connect, support, and advocate for runners throughout the city.

Party in the Park brought that mission to life by gathering local clubs, organizations, and runners in one place. The free event welcomed every pace, whether someone was searching for a new running group, reconnecting with familiar faces, or simply looking for a fun way to move.

The morning included community runs, live music, giveaways, and plenty of post-run refreshments, including watermelon and Gatorade.

Making Personal Safety Part of the Conversation

Events like Party in the Park give us the opportunity to connect with runners where they are and make personal safety feel more approachable.

Throughout the morning, Pinky helped us spark conversations about taking charge of your safety and the importance of feeling prepared while running. Runners could stop by, ask questions, learn more about Safely, and explore personal safety tools designed to fit into their everyday routines.

We believe every runner deserves to feel more confident getting outside, whether they’re heading out alone, meeting a run club, or logging miles somewhere new.

Pinky Parties in the Park

Pinky, our five-foot pink skeleton, fit right into the celebration.

Between meeting Houston runners and making appearances around the park, Pinky helped bring a little Safely energy to an already lively morning. He may not be much of a runner, but he never misses an opportunity to support a safer running community.

Thank You, HARRA

Thank you to HARRA for creating a free, welcoming event that brought so many parts of Houston’s running community together.

We’re grateful for every conversation, connection, and runner who stopped to meet Pinky. Community is an important part of feeling safer, and mornings like this remind us how powerful it can be when runners show up for one another.

Follow HARRA on Instagram to learn more about its upcoming events, programs, and Houston-area running clubs.

Here’s to more movement, more community, and more miles covered with confidence.
