Designed to help you feel confident and in control, the SOS Sidekick combines the trusted features of the original Safely Sidekick with discreet emergency alert technology powered by invisaWear. It features a loud alarm, bright flashlight, secure grip, pepper spray or practice spray, swappable attachments (safety spike* or keychain), and an SOS button that can connect to emergency support through the invisaWear app and safety plan. Every SOS Sidekick comes with a charger.
Please note: SOS features require the invisaWear app and an active safety plan. Pepper spray and grip options may be subject to state shipping restrictions.
*The safety spike can double as a glass breaker in emergencies, but effectiveness depends on the type and thickness of the glass.

Is the SOS Sidekick good for runners?

Can I replace the pepper spray when it runs out?
Yes! Replacement pepper sprays and practice sprays are available for purchase separately on our website. The spray pops in and out of the SOS Sidekick in seconds so swapping is easy. Remember that pepper spray has a 4 year shelf life so even if you never use it, we recommend replacing it when it expires to make sure you are always protected.
How do I charge my SOS Sidekick and how long does the battery last?
The SOS Sidekick battery lasts 4+ hours of continuous flashlight use on a single charge. To recharge, simply plug in the included micro-USB charger. We recommend charging your SOS Sidekick regularly so it is always ready when you need it.
Is the SOS Sidekick legal and does it ship to my state?
The SOS Sidekick is legal and ships to all 50 states with a few component exceptions. We cannot ship the knux grip to NY, MA, CA, WA, MI, IL, VT, AK, or HI. If you are in one of these states please choose the strap grip. We cannot ship pepper spray to AK, HI, MA, or NY. If you are in one of these states please choose the strap grip with practice spray. All other Sidekick components ship to all 50 states. We always recommend checking your local laws regarding pepper spray and self defense tools. Safely products are currently only available in the USA.
How does the SOS feature work?
The SOS feature is designed to help you get support fast in an emergency. Simply double click the SOS button on your device to activate it. Once activated, your selected emergency contacts are instantly alerted and can view your live location through the invisaWear app.
At the same time, ADT’s 24/7 emergency response team is notified and can help contact emergency services with your location if needed. The SOS feature is designed to work quickly and discreetly, even in situations where you may not be able to make a phone call yourself.
What does the monitoring plan cost, and can I cancel anytime?
Every SOS Sidekick includes a free month of monitoring through the invisaWear app. After the trial, the monitoring plan is $14.99 per month and can be canceled anytime.
Even without a subscription, you will still have access to all of the Sidekick’s physical safety tools including the pepper spray, personal alarm, flashlight, safety grip, and safety spike.
What happens when I press the SOS button?
When you press the SOS button, the device quickly activates your emergency response plan through the invisaWear app. Your selected emergency contacts are instantly alerted and can view your live location in real time.
At the same time, ADT’s 24/7 emergency response team is notified and can help contact emergency services with your location if needed. The SOS feature is designed to work quickly and discreetly, even in situations where you may not be able to make a phone call yourself.
