What's the difference between the Sidekick and the SOS Sidekick?

The Sidekick is Safely's original 5 in 1 personal safety device. It includes pepper spray, a bright LED flashlight, a 130dB personal alarm, a wrist strap, a safety spike, a keychain, and your choice of grip. No app or subscription required.

The SOS Sidekick includes everything in the original Sidekick plus built in invisaWear SOS technology. Through the invisaWear app and an active safety plan, the SOS button can alert your emergency contacts and connect you with ADT's 24/7 emergency support, giving you a physical safety device and a live backup in one.

Does the SOS Sidekick require a subscription?

Yes. SOS features require an active safety plan through the invisaWear app. Without it, the SOS alert features will not work. The safety plan starts with a free first month, then $14.99/mo, and can be cancelled anytime.

The physical Sidekick features including pepper spray, flashlight, alarm, wrist strap, safety spike, keychain, and grip all work without a subscription. The original Safely Sidekick never requires an app or subscription.

What's included in the Sidekick?

Every Sidekick includes pepper spray, a bright LED flashlight, a 130dB personal alarm, a wrist strap, a safety spike, a keychain, your chosen grip style, and a micro USB charger.

The SOS Sidekick includes all of the above plus built in invisaWear SOS technology with a dedicated SOS button integrated into the grip.

Can the SOS Sidekick contact 911?

Yes. When activated, the SOS Sidekick can help connect you to emergency services through the invisaWear app and ADT’s 24/7 emergency response support. If needed, ADT can contact 911 and share your location with emergency responders. The device also alerts your selected emergency contacts so multiple people know you may need help.

Is the Sidekick waterproof?

The Sidekick and SOS Sidekick are water resistant and sweat resistant, making them reliable companions for running, hiking, and everyday outdoor activity. They are not fully waterproof and should not be submerged or exposed to heavy moisture.

Can I travel with my Sidekick?

Laws around pepper spray and safety tools vary by location, so always check local regulations before traveling. If flying, the pepper spray, knux grip, and safety spike must be packed in a checked bag only. The device body contains a rechargeable battery and can go in a carry on. Always verify TSA guidelines and airline rules before your trip.
