The Safely team loves seeing running communities take safety into their own hands. Recently, ChaseHer Run Club in Louisiana hosted a safety session where runners learned how to properly use pepper spray and practice their aim using Safely’s practice spray.
During the session, runners had the opportunity to try Safely’s practice spray, which contains a 100 percent water formula designed to help people safely learn how to aim and use pepper spray before ever needing to use it in a real situation.
Why Practicing Matters
One of the most common things we hear from runners is that they carry pepper spray but have never actually practiced using it.
Practicing ahead of time helps remove uncertainty and builds confidence so that if a runner ever needs to use it, they know exactly what to do.

The group also had the chance to see the Safely Sidekick, our multi functional self defense tool featuring a bright flashlight, pepper spray, personal safety alarm, and interchangeable attachments designed to help women stay prepared on every run.
Runner Safety Starts with Community
We have seen more and more run clubs across the country incorporate safety education into their meetups, which is an incredible step forward for the running community.
Learning how to use safety tools together helps runners feel more confident and prepared while supporting one another.
Want to Bring This to Your Run Club?
If you are part of a running group and would like to host a pepper spray safety demonstration, we would love to help.
Safely has partnered with running stores, race organizations, and run clubs across the country to teach runners how to properly use pepper spray and feel more confident while running.
