Running Stronger Together: Celebrating Global Running Day with Our Favorite Running Stores, Brands, and Safety Partners

Today is Global Running Day, a celebration of the strength, confidence, and joy that running brings to so many people. At Safely, we believe that every woman deserves to feel safe while running. Whether you are chasing a personal goal or simply taking a mental break, safety should never be something you have to second guess.

That is why we are proud to work alongside running stores, safety-focused brands, and community leaders who are committed to supporting women and building a better experience for runners everywhere.

Running Stores We Love

We’re incredibly grateful to partner with some of the best running stores across the country. These stores go beyond retail, foster community, empower runners, and help make safety part of the conversation.

  • Fleet Feet
One of the first stores to launch Safely, Fleet Feet has been a key partner in our mission. We’ve hosted multiple “How to Use Pepper Spray” events at their locations in Houston, Denver, Boulder, Inlet Beach, and more.
  • Black Dog Running Company
A female-owned hub in South Carolina that supports both new and experienced runners with a strong sense of community.
  • Gazelle Sports
A trusted name in Michigan’s running scene and an advocate for runner education, wellness, and safety.
  • Ready 2 Run
Austin-based and community-focused, Ready 2 Run offers top-notch service and has welcomed Safely into the local running space.
  • Running Etc
Serving runners in Virginia, Running Etc is known for expert advice and a passion for supporting local athletes.
  • Runners Edge
A welcoming store with deep ties to the running community, offering gear, guidance, and support every step of the way.

To every store, team, and staff member that has hosted a workshop, shared a safety tip, or stocked Safely products we thank you for helping us create a safer tomorrow for your running community.

Four Ways to Stay Safe While Running

Here are four easy, effective ways to make safety part of your everyday running routine.

1. Carry a self-defense tool from Safely
Pepper spray and the Safely Sidekick are trusted by thousands of runners. Our tools are designed to be easy to use and simple to carry so you never feel unprepared.

2. Use the Running Mate app
Running Mate connects you with verified running partners and lets you share your route with trusted contacts. It is a smart way to stay connected while staying active.

3. Choose the right gear
Fittsafe creates athletic wear that makes it easier to carry what you need. Their built-in pockets and thoughtful designs allow you to bring your phone, safety tools, and other essentials without slowing you down.

4. Add extra protection with InvisaWear
Disguised as a sleek necklace or bracelet, InvisaWear safety jewelry lets you send emergency alerts with one click. It is discreet, stylish, and potentially life-saving.

Join Us at the Every Woman’s Marathon

We are putting our mission into action.

Our team has officially signed up to run the Every Woman’s Marathon this November. It's a first-of-its-kind race created specifically for women. And we are not going alone.

We have created the Female Runner Safety Team, a community of runners dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for change.

Whether you are a seasoned marathoner or a first-time 5K runner, we would love for you to join us. Run alongside our team, represent a cause that matters, and help push the movement forward one mile at a time.

Why It Matters

Safety should not be an afterthought. It should be something we all feel empowered to take into our own hands.

On Global Running Day, we are celebrating not just the miles we log, but the movement we are building. One where women feel confident running alone, at any time, in any place.

From all of us at Safely: keep showing up, keep speaking out, and keep running.
