Recap of Safely Team’s Exciting Weekend at the NRA Convention

This past weekend, the Safely Team had the pleasure of attending the NRA Convention from May 17th to May 19th as an exhibitor. The event was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with enthusiasts and experts in the field, showcase our innovative products, and network with other amazing women-owned businesses. Here's a detailed recap of our experience and highlights from the convention.

Engaging Demonstrations and Hands-On Training

One of the main attractions at our booth was the live demonstrations of our top-tier self-defense products. We had a great time teaching attendees how to use our pepper spray and our latest device, the Sidekick. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how valuable and empowering they found the training.

  • Pepper Spray: Attendees learned about our Maximum Strength Pepper Spray, which contains 1.4% Major Capsaicinoids (MC) and 10% Oleoresin Capsicum (OC). Our lab-tested formula includes a UV-Dye for easy identification and can spray up to 10 feet with up to 25 quick bursts. The compact design, complete with a keychain, ensures it pops out of its case for quick and easy access.
  • Practice Spray: We also highlighted our Practice Spray canisters, filled with 100% water, allowing users to practice safely and gain confidence in their ability to use pepper spray effectively in a real-life scenario.
  • Sidekick: The Sidekick, our latest self-defense innovation, wowed the crowd with its multifunctional design. This handheld device packs five powerful tools: pepper spray, a 150-lumen flashlight, a 130dB alarm that strobe when activated, a glass breaker, and a versatile grip option (knux or strap).

Networking with Women-Owned Businesses

In addition to showcasing our products, we had the privilege of meeting and chatting with other inspiring women-owned businesses. We were particularly excited to connect with:

  • Shoot Like A Girl: Dedicated to empowering women to participate in shooting sports and self-defense, Shoot Like A Girl provides training and resources to help women become confident and skilled in handling firearms and archery equipment.
  • Bullet Bloom: Bullet Bloom, creates beautiful, meaningful statement pieces from expanded bullets. Inspired by her father, a military veteran, and the loss of her grandfather, Bridget turned her passion for metalsmithing into a business that symbolizes strength and resilience.
  • Kinsey Rhea: Founded by mother/daughter duo Diana Kinsey and Ashley Malfitano, Kinsey Rhea designs stylish and secure concealed carry purses for women. Their products merge safety with fashion, empowering women to feel confident and protected wherever they go.
  • Zendira: Zendira offers luxury and lightweight concealed carry purses and bags, designed to help women stay safe while maintaining their style. Their collection includes various styles, from crossbody bags to totes, each thoughtfully designed with secure concealed carry compartments.

Product Sales and Customer Engagement

The convention was also an excellent venue for selling our products in person. We were thrilled to see so many attendees taking home our pepper spray and pre-ordering our Sidekick devices, confident in their ability to protect themselves and their loved ones. The direct feedback we received was invaluable, helping us to further improve our offerings and better serve our customers.

Highlighting Self-Defense and Situational Awareness

Throughout the event, we emphasized the importance of situational awareness and being prepared. Understanding your surroundings and being ready to act is crucial for personal safety. Our products are designed to enhance these aspects, giving users the confidence to navigate their environments safely.

Looking Ahead

Our time at the NRA Convention was both productive and inspiring. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many passionate individuals and businesses dedicated to safety and empowerment. Moving forward, we are excited to continue innovating and bringing top-quality self-defense products to market.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and made this event such a success. We look forward to seeing you at future events and continuing to promote safety and empowerment through our products.
