SafeHorns West Campus National Night Out - October Event

SafeHorns West Campus National Night Out - October Event

The University of Texas at Austin has several initiatives underway to increase safety measures on and off campus. One initiative is a private coalition called SafeHorns. Concerned parents, stakeholders, and citizens have come together with a mission to increase safety on and off the University of Texas at Austin campus.

Annually, SafeHorns holds an event called, “National Night Out” this event aims to introduce students to resources that can help them stay safe. Safely was honored to be in attendance showcasing safely pepper spray, along with several others including:

  1. UTPD
  2. Longhorn EMS
  3. SUREWalk/UT night rides
  4. UT Outpost
  5. Sobering Center
  6. VAN - Victims Advocate Network
  7. Horns for Safety
  8. Gun Safe
  9. Foundation for a Drug-Free World

While these topics were heavy, SafeHorns did an excellent job of partnering with several companies to provide students with the chance to win some big-ticket items. Prizes included 3 day ACL wristbands, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Kyle Caven Jewelry, and others.

Increasing safety measures on the University of Texas campus is close to our team’s heart. Our team met in college and quickly bonded over wanting to create a safer tomorrow. Organizations like SafeHorns are leading the way to do just this. If you are interested in getting involved, please visit the SafeHorns website to learn more.
